Whether you're managing everyday finances or planning for the future, Commonwealth Bank is proud to be a leader in personal banking services in The Bahamas.
Commonwealth Bank is proud to make a $15,000 donation to the legendary Saxons Superstars Junkanoo Group. This contribution underscores the Bank’s commitment to supporting Bahamian culture and preserving the cherished tradition of Junkanoo, which unites communities through music, art, and celebration.
“Junkanoo is a true celebration of Bahamian pride, creativity, and unity,” said Sean Brathwaite, Senior Vice President and COO at Commonwealth Bank. “We are honored to support the Saxons Superstars as they continue to inspire and showcase the vitality of our culture. Throughout our 65 years, Commonwealth Bank has supported major Junkanoo groups, proudly championing the growth and preservation of this cherished tradition. It never ceases to amaze me how cardboard, glue, and limitless imagination come together to create such breathtaking works of art.”
The $15,000 donation will go towards costumes, instruments, and other essential preparations for the 2024/2025 Junkanoo parades. With Commonwealth Bank’s support, the Saxons Superstars aim to deliver performances that captivate audiences and honor the rich heritage of The Bahamas. Commonwealth Bank has a long history of community engagement and cultural preservation. This partnership with the Saxons Superstars highlights the Bank’s ongoing commitment to fostering the growth and sustainability of Bahamian traditions.
Mr. Toby Austin, Chairman of the Saxons Superstars, expressed gratitude for the partnership: “We are deeply thankful to Commonwealth Bank for their unwavering support.
