Commonwealth Bank bolsters its commitment to Abaco by reconstructing its Marsh Harbour Branch

Commonwealth Bank Limited (BISX:CBL) today announced plans to reconstruct its Marsh Harbour, Abaco Branch.  In the wake of what has been called the most catastrophic hurricane in the history of The Bahamas, Commonwealth Bank is once again taking the lead to assist Abaconians as they begin to recover from this deadly storm by restoring banking services to Abaco island. Reconstruction of the Abaco Branch, which sustained considerable flood damage during Hurricane Dorian, is anticipated to commence immediately.

The signing of a $3.9 million contract with Carl G. Treco Contractors & Developers Ltd. will transform the 9,000 square-foot facility into a new state-of-the-art branch which is expected to be completed in the fall of 2020. The newly completed branch will feature the Bank’s signature design and amenities.

The modern environmentally friendly branch is expected to create dozens of on-site jobs and related financially viable opportunities for the local community during the twelve-month construction period.  Mr. Matthew Sawyer, Abaco Branch Manager, along with a staff complement of 10, will continue to deliver service excellence at the temporary sub-branch located in Maxwell’s Supermarket during the construction phase of the new facility; while seeking to minimize any inconvenience to our valued clients.
